Reflection About the Roles of Technology for Teaching & Learning

In the world that we currently live in, technology is a very vital factor. With each passing day a new software or gadget is being brought into the market that serves to improve our lives in one way or another and make it much easier and also to advance an already existing software or gadget. Technology improves teaching competence, modifies teaching behavior and style, inculcates scientific outlook, attitude and approach. Educational technology also helps students’ not just students but all other people to transfer knowledge to the learners or to other person. It helps the teacher to know to what extent the educational objectives have been achieved.

Technology that is made use of in the classroom is very beneficial in helping the students understand and absorb what they are being taught. For instance, since there are a number of students who are visual learners, projection screens connected to computers could be put in classrooms to let the students see their notes as opposed to simply sitting down and listening to the instructor teach. Technology influenced me as a student to be more engaged in learning. It also encourage me in collaboration, innovation and enhances my learning. As a trainer, technology has been a great support in learning through communication of online learning (e.g google classroom, google meet, emails, YouTube etc.) and provides the necessity of every student and teachers needs in learning.

            By utilizing the technology, as a trainer I will make use of it through online teaching (e.g google classroom, google meet etc.) because of the pandemic we cannot do face-to-face classes. Can also be used as communication (e.g messenger, emails, Facebook etc.) to enable dynamic communication with students and will also include mobile apps that grade written student work and provide lesson plan databases.
