Lesson Planning Reflection

Lesson planning is fuel of teaching. I have learned that when you walk inside the classroom unprepared is like going to a battle field without a weapon and shield. The lesson plan is key to making sure that you are prepared when you walk into that room. Having a background of education exposed me to some of the responsibility inside the classroom. I think I know the life and responsibilities of someone until I actually have to walk in their shoes and do what they do. Now that I am a trainer/teacher, with some responsibilities and accountability of writing and delivering lessons daily to my students, I have a clearer understanding of the life of a teacher though I am not a graduate in education, but I have build my teaching skills through experience as a trainer.

I have accepted that making a lesson plan and scheduling of sections per day are part of the job. It is a task that is on going and never ends until the training ends. Though my work is a lil' bit different from public schools, the teaching strategies and skills applies the same. Lesson planning for me so far has never ending and it took a lot longer for me in the beginning then it does now so I can say it has  become easier. I remember thinking, what in the world have I gotten myself into, but as I continue to write lessons and get to know my students even more than I already know them, I am finding that it is not bad as it seems. I am still at point where I realized and expect that almost 3 years in service, I am a new teacher and this is a growing process for me. I am learning more and more each day.
